Great home style food but the restaurant is too small. Need biggest dinning room.i love to have dinner with my family comfortable not smashed together around the table. I will be back asap with my family
Old House Cafe is a little place right off the road through Walterboro that serves traditional Southern fare like a barbecue sandwich (pulled pork), fried chicken, and veggie sides, the last two of which are offered as part of a buffet, along with a salad bar. The pulled pork sandwich is exactly what it sounds like--meat in a sesame seed bun, with absolutely no frills. Although I was not thrilled with the sandwich (decent taste but nothing to write home about) it was a great deal for the price (only $5.50). If you choose to go the buffet route you can choose from a variety of veggie dishes, like mashed potatoes, green beans, and rice. The food is extremely cheap and it comes fast. The little gift shop at the front and the homey wood interior are great pluses, as well!
Went specifically looking for a non franchise type diner. Was not disappointed in this old house.. great price. Delicious food. Comfortable atmosphere. Friendly down home staff. Smelled yummy from the parking lot.
Great fried chicken, beef stew. Endless salad bar. Great service, fair prices, what more can I say?
For an out of towner it felt very homey. The food was good and the buffet really was the way to go. Not a huge selection of options but that is a positive in my eyes as everything the did have was wonderful. Highly recommend!
